The Power of Coffee!

Upcoming Meeting Dates

Part instruction, brainstorming, motivation, & critique, our supportive group meets the second and fourth Saturday of the month and is user-friendly, inspirational, and empowering. Every woman deserves a room of her own.

"As soon as coffee is in your stomach, there is a general commotion. Ideas begin to move...similes arise, the paper is covered. Coffee is your ally and writing ceases to be a struggle."~Honore de Balzac

Thoughts On A Bagel

Doesn't it make you wonder
how someone like Pat
can eat a bagel on a beautiful morning
at the harbor and then keel over
in the parking lot?
What's the point of saving face with Botox
to get that plastic deer-in-the-headlights look
if it's all down the toilet
anyway,
or skip desserts for a year
when there might not be a minute
to savor that last sweet sour taste
of cream cheese,
tomato and avocado
on a double-toasted sesame?
She never revised her manuscript.
Too many characters,
they said.
Like life, she said.
And instead of listening to critiques,
she skipped the meeting
to buy her favorite bagel
that beautiful morning
at the harbor.

This makes me think. I will carry this around with me when I make my mundane choices this week.
