Book Launch - March 3rd

Reserve the evening of March 3rd for our the "She Writes" Athology book launch. The celebration will feature a champagne reception, light refreshments, and entertainment. Best of all, it's free. LET'S WRITE!

1) Pick ten people you know. Write a one-sentence description for each.

2) Record five-minutes of a talk radio show. Jot down the dialog. Describe the speakers.

3) Write a 500-word biography of your life.

4) Write your obituary. List accomplishments.

5) Write a 300-word description of your bedroom.

6) Write a fictional interview with yourself, an acquaintance, a famous figure or a fictional character. How would you slant it as an exposé? As an article in People? As the lead story in Time?

7) Scan articles in newspapers until you find one that interests you. Use this as the basis for story.

8) Keep a diary of a fictional character or an historical figure.

9) Rewrite Hemingway or F. Scott Fizgerald or Virginia Woolf in a different style such as noir, gothic romance, pulp fiction or horror story.

10) Make a list of what you like about the way an author writes.

11) Take a piece of your writing done in first person and rewrite it in third person, or vice-versa.

12) Write everything you can remember about your first memory. Write from your current POV looking back or from the perspective you had at that age.

13) Write about an argument from the point of view of the other person.

14) Write a 200-word description of a place.

15) Sit in a restaurant or a crowded area and record the snippets of conversation you hear.
